PUMA PRINT | WINDOW TO OUR SOUL
Chile. Early morning. When I was growing up, I was taught not to look at an elder's eyes when being reprimanded. When I came to America while working in the garment business, my boss told me he could not trust me if I didn’t look into his eyes. It took me a while to change that habit.
When I was in Alaska 4 years ago, I came across a grizzly bear 7 feet away from me. I looked at it in the eye, and I believe it worked, the bear kept it's distance and didn’t attack.
Many times photographing animals; I have encountered close calls. Looking straight into the animal's eyes have been the best way so far.
Looking into one's eyes lets, you read their soul, animal or human. It’s a great way to show who you truly are.
