Yellow Stone National Park. It was about -10 degrees Fahrenheit, but for this bison, it was just another day in paradise. They push the snow from side to side with their mouth until they find frozen grass to graze upon. Sometimes, they stand motionless for hours as though they are sunbathing. This was one of those times. I patiently waited, hoping to capture some movement, but this bull and the others were frozen.

Tragically, Climate Change Has Put the Great American Bison at Risk
As I traveled to take bison photography, I learned more about this majestic animal. In the United States, Yellowstone National Park is the only place where bison are seen in large numbers – as captured in my black and white art prints for instance. CLIMATE CHANGE has drastically impacted their habitat and created hotter summers, higher rainfall, and also reduced snowfall. This directly impacts their food sources and also harms their development. We have compared black and white art photos from 1965 and also observed a significant reduction in size over the past 50 years. The fossil record also confirms its size reduction over the years.
What’s more, climate change often leads to wildfires – which is an even bigger threat for all wildlife. Keep reading to learn how purchasing my bison photography can help protect and also restore the bison.
