Saintes Marie’s de la Mer. Early Evening. Firstly, I lined myself up at the water’s edge. I wanted to capture the horse photography art that I had seen in my mind so many times. It’s an image of horses jumping through the water. To move forward, their bodies stretched, necks pulled forward, legs raised higher than the water, mane flying like surfer’s, water splashing all over but they are focused to get to the shore. All the aspects were lining up correctly except looking at the horses running towards me, my mind started to race, my body got tense, and I could not see anything else but chaos.
I realized for me to get what I want, I must also slow my mind. Once my mind was slow, I felt calm, my body felt relaxed, and I wasn’t reactive, I felt in control. I was also looking at the horses running towards me in slow motion; I pressed the shutter button when I saw the image I had seen in my mind. If we can control our mind, we can also control the world around us.
Our minds are so powerful and can overcome anything. Exploring the world to photograph wildlife is so rewarding. We often forget that nature and its animals are so beautiful. The views of the landscapes are also breathtaking and inspirational. I encourage everyone to use their mind to overcome their fears so that they can experience what they are passionate about. Many of us are scared to take a leap, but you must take one step at a time to fully get what you want in life.

This horse was so powerful when he ran I could clearly see he was the alpha male.
The sun was descending over the horizon as I came upon some wild horses grazing on saltwater grass.
Two things could have happened; I could have ended up in the ER or ended up with an image like this one.
