The story behind this horse picture.
Sainte-Maries-de-la-Mer, France. Early morning. There was no sun and the fog was also dense. Firstly, we were waiting for the horseman to corral the horses towards us. The fog was so dense I couldn’t make anything out. I heard the horses but could not see them.
I decided to work with the conditions and also try my hand at mysticism/mystical photography. Meanwhile, my window of opportunity was small – the fog would lift any minute. I heard the neighing again and ran towards the sound. After that, I got the photograph that I had envisioned. Minutes later, the sun was blazing and the fog was gone.
Nature and mysticism
Nature itself is filled so much mysticism. The sun, the moon, and also the air, have been symbols of power for many cultures throughout history. I love using these elements when composing each horse picture that I photograph. One of my favorite elements is water. Seeing horses running and splashing through the water is such a majestic sight. The horses seem to be crashing through the waves making each horse picture powerful as a result. The absolute favorite element of mine is snow. Landscapes covered in snow is where I love to be. The colder and more extreme the weather is, the better. I’ve traveled to Arctic regions to photograph the Arctic wolf, Arctic Fox, Reindeer, and also the Musk Ox. The Arctic has such a mystical ora. It has miles and miles of snow and wildlife without human contact.
In conclusion, there is mysticism everywhere, we just need to stop and look real close.
