The story behind my winter horse photography.
Wyoming, early morning. I was told I would have the opportunity to photograph lots of horses the next morning. To my surprise, I would be photographing over 50 horses or so. I wanted to get a low angle, so I laid in the snow waiting for the horses. When they started to run towards me, I realized I was buried in the snow. I had no choice but to get up on my knees; I wanted the horses to see me. In actuality, my nerves gave into fear when the ground trembled. Just being around, so many horses were such a privilege.
Nature is so unexpected. All things are calm and quiet one second, then suddenly, mother nature comes at you with a force. These beautiful horses are amazing to photograph but the experience was on another level. The cold air gives you chills. Having the snowy dreamy landscape was simply stunning. Feeling the ground shake tell you just how strong these horses are. We should all have these feelings in one way or another when living life. Every moment should awaken all the senses. It should give us a drive and passion to enjoy life. Winter horse photography gives me that drive. The drive to pursue my passion to the fullest and to also inspire others to find the same.
