The Arctic. Late morning. I patiently waited for seven days and had no luck with seeing the wolf. Should I stay or should I go? I hate that state of mind where I judge myself and fail. Asking the question, "did I give it my best?" Leaving was tough. I felt guilty which slowed down my packing causing delays.

My guide, on the other hand, was an earnest person. He had not smiled the entire trip mainly because he felt that he was letting me down. He wanted to give it his best, so he asked to stay for some more time. At this point I was done, so we left. While riding back to town, he stopped, looked at me, and smiled; I didn’t see the wolf, but I knew he had seen one.

This wolf was the first one to approach us; he was trying to figure out what to make of us.

Thinking about it now, I realized all the guilt that was happening in our minds was basically to cause a delay so we could come face to face with the wolves in a vast area that had no roads or path to follow. At the end of the day, if it’s meant to happen, it will happen.
