HORSE IMAGES IN BLACK AND WHITE | GLIDE
Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Early evening. The sheer scale and grace with which horses move make them ideal subjects to shoot. We are accustomed to seeing horses run on land, but they are equally impressive in the water. They take on an amphibious nature -- half running, half swimming in slow motion. My objective was to display the flow of their manes with the movement of the water.
I started to observe their timing and tried to synchronize mine with theirs. They have a constant rhythm to their movement; the horses moved in tandem with the water. I was determined to capture both the water and the horses at the instant when the water splashed over their legs and torsos. I failed many many times, but finally, I did get this shot.
As you can see, the visual lines of the water break align with those of their manes.
